1. Le singulier et le pluriel

➪ Note again that the plural form ends with an -s➪ Be careful: you need to write the  -s but don't pronounce it!

1. L'article défini: le / la / l'/ les (STATUS: MARQUÉ)

➪ Note again that in French all nouns have a gender: they can either be feminine (GENDER: FÉMININ) or masculin (GENDER: MASCULIN).
➪ The articles le / la / l' / les mean the in English.
➪ Note again that both le and la become l' before a vowel sound:
     
      la + amour = l'amour
      la + école = l'école
      le + importance = l'importance
      le + ours = l'ours
      le + univers = l'univer
      ___
      le + hôtel = l'hôtel (h is silent)

EXEMPLES:
EXERCICE: Remplacer les blancs par le / la / l' / ou les.

a) J'aime ...................école, ...................rock et ...................théâtre.
b) J'adore ...................sport et ...................voitures.
c) Tu aimes ...................danse? 
d) Elle déteste...................avion. Elle préfèr...................train.
